Finding the right piano teacher from the start is important
Finding the right piano teacher from the start is important
Finding the right piano teacher as an adult is crucial; it can be the difference between finding a wonderful way to express yourself and having a lifetime of joy with music, or quitting the piano with a long-term aversion to it.
Here at the Ann Chang Music Studio, we teach students of all ages and skill levels, even adults who are brand new to the piano. Our beginner piano lessons are flexible and personalized for each individual. When you schedule your introductory meet and greet session we’ll go over your goals and expectations for your piano lessons.
Our goal is to help you discover your spark for music.
It’s never too late
Many people believe that learning becomes much more difficult as you get older. There are definitely factors that make it difficult, such as hectic schedules, family responsibilities, and so on. However, as humans, we are constantly learning. Our brains do not stop working when we reach a certain age – they continue to function! There is also evidence that learning a new skill as an adult can keep the brain active well into old age. However, the most compelling reason to begin learning piano now is that you want to learn.
“Before I met Dr. Chang, practicing and performing the piano felt something that I wanted to avoid. Under Dr. Chang’s professional teaching…practicing and performing became something I enjoy in my life.”
– Naeun Lee
Perhaps your schedule is too tight, or you want to see if you’ll enjoy lessons before devoting a lot of time and money to them. The Ann Chang Music Studio is here to help you! Whether you are an adult learner who is completely new to the piano or someone who learned as a child but hasn’t touched the piano in years, our adult beginner piano lessons will help you achieve your musical goals on your schedule and within your budget.
We place a high value on getting to know you personally and learning about your interests, strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations. We’ll do everything we can to help. When it comes to what and how we educate, we don’t treat every learner the same. The needs and musical preferences of each student are unique, so we work closely with you to develop a plan that suits your needs and musical tastes. In the initial session, we’ll ask you questions about your musical tastes, aspirations, and background, and then create a plan and goals to assist you in realizing your musical goals.

Parents are welcome to sit in on lessons at any time. Contact me with any questions or concerns as they arise, as this is the best way to promote positive, progressive learning and a positive student-teacher-parent relationship.
